Description
Two bands from the German top flight attack the degeneration of the modern world for almost 1 hour with 11 songs. It is therefore hardly surprising that this CD is called [De]generation. Übermensch opens with five tracks that focus on the theme of “man”. Whether it is about overcoming man as such, the slave living in freedom. As a fitting finale, “Wie ein Bär” (Like a Bear) is a real anthem cast in concrete, and musically as well as sonically it is perfect! The next five tracks showcase the bloodlines from the far north. Blutlinie have taken a musical hybrid direction that lies somewhere between hard rock and thrash metal. The anthem-like “metal ballad” “Unter dem Banner Nesselblattes” did make it onto the album. Whether the title is “Damals in Sudety” or “Mensch 3.0”, rhyme follows rhyme and wordplay follows wordplay. In the bonus track “Furor Teutonicus”, Blutlinie provides the music, while Übermensch is responsible for lyrics and vocals.
